Born September 22, 1933, in Berrien County to the late Foster Key and Sibbie Tomberlin Griner, Sr., he was a Retired Master Sgt., U.S. Army, with 22-1/2 years service. He served in the Korean War. After his retirement he was employed with the El Paso, TX school district as maintenance director and the Berrien County Board of Education as a bus driver and courier. He was a member of Nashville First Church of the Nazarene and VFW Post 5978. Survivors include his wife Doris Henderson Griner of Nashville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Michele and Tom Hart of Hebron, KY, Amber and Walter Haven of Pensacola, FL, Jeane and William Whitman of Nashville; son and daughter-in-law, James William and Mary Anna Brown Griner of Sparks; sisters, Loudell Nix and Sara Frances Dykes, both of Nashville; brothers, Buie Griner of Nashville and Charles Griner of Valdosta; six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held February 17 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Revs. Jack Smithwick and Ray Dean officiating. Terri Wallace and Sunshine Summer will sing "I'll Meet You in the Morning." Interment with full military honors will be held at Nashville Memorial Gaskins. Active pallbearers will be Tom Wallace, John Langley, Leroy Griffin, Mark Oliver, Kenneth Wilson Charles Barden. Honorary pallbearers will be Mack Lovett, Wendell Richwine, J.T. Nix.
