Born July 2, 1930, in West Palm Beach, FL to the late Gladys Rictor Carter and Clarence LeRoy Gudal, Sr., he had lived in Tifton 31 years. He retired as division manager and vice-president of Winn-Dixie and was co-owner and manager of MSI/AgriSupply in Tifton. He had worked in grocery business from childhood and had served in the Florida National Guard. He loved being with his family and his neighborhood friends and enjoyed his grandchildren’s activities. He also enjoyed spending time at his lake house. “The Backwaters,” near Crystal River, FL. He had a special love for animals, especially his Dachshunds and Bulldogs, and he enjoyed raising chickens. He was a Red Coat with the Tift Regional Medical center Auxiliary, a Mason and a Shriner, and a member of First U United Methodist Church of Tifton. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Walters Gudal of Tifton; daughters and sons-in-law, Carla and Carey Parrish of Alapaha, Lee and Jimmy Davis of Jacksonville, FL; and Valrie and Charlie Bell of Moultrie; brother, Carter Gudal Gudal of Somerset, KY; grandchildren, Amber Copeland, Matt Parrish, Jacob “Buddy” Rowe” Parrish, Grant Bell, Ryan Davis, Aaron Davis and Harrison Bell; aunt, Helen Gudal Harvey of Minneapolis, Minn; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, his close neighbor, Carroll Whitfield; and his dog, Blossom.” Funeral services were held February 20 at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Ch Church of Tifton with the Revs. Sam Rogers, Stephen Webb and Bruce Sack of officiating. Interment followed at Fletcher Cemetery in Alapaha. Active pallbearers were Matt Parrish, “Buddy Rowe” Parrish, Grant Bell, Dr. Howard Acree, Larry Scarborough, Freddie Weeks. Honorary pallbearers were Frankie Hall, Randall Tillery, Chris Barber, Coy Tawzer Tawzer, Glynn Tawzer, Pait Willis, Gus Upshaw, Ed Newton, Mike Corrigan, Carroll and Laura Whitfield, Dr. Richard McCullough, Ron Roberts, Gerald Bledsoe, Chip Bowen, Spud Bowen, Don Turner, the Guy’s Drug Store coffee table group, and the management teams at MSI/AgriSupply and FirstProducts.
