Born July 15, 1933 in Lanier Co. to the late Dewey and Mary Brogdon Calhoun, she was a homemaker and was retired from the ASCS office as a program clerk. She was a member of New Fellowship Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star. She was married to the late Julian Gurganious. Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Warren and Debbie Jowers, both of Nashville; two brothers, Densol Calhoun and J.D. Calhoun both of Nashville; two grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, six step-great- grandchildren. Funeral services were held September 2 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Clarence Luke officiating. Darlene Parker sang "Amazing Grace" and "God On the Mountain," accompanied by Janet Powell, pianist. Interment was in Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Keith Chaney, Robert Griner, Chris Avera, Don McKinnon, Charlie Singletary, Jimmy Hand. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
