Born February 22, 1925 in Hamilton County, TN to the late Gorman and Jewell Mathis Smith, she was a homemaker and worked at Nashville Mills as seamstress inspector. Survivors include her husband, John Guthrie of Nashville, one daughter, M. Luvenia "Sunshine" Summers of Ray City; one son, John Daviel Guthrie of Lenox; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers. Funeral services were held Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Revs. Ray Dean and Warner Guthrie officiating. "Shall We Gather at the River" and "Rock of Ages" were played on CD. Terri Walker sang "Hallelujah Square." Interment was in Guthrie Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dean Rewis, Howard "Preacher" Summers, Larry Kent, Jimmy Kilpatrick, Darrel Kilpatrick, Zachery Cribb. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
