Guthrie, 97, of Nashville died January 28, 2011, at Berrien Nursing Ce Center. Born February 25, 1913, in Berrien County to the late Samuel F. and Betty S Sutton Guthrie, he was a cabinet maker and home builder as owner of Nashville V Variety Works for many years. He was an avid golfer and a charter member of C Circlestone County Club. He was a fisherman and attended Nashville First B Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Ray Guthrie, who d died in 2009, three sisters and four brothers. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Lamar Roberts of Nashville; a son and daughter-in-law, William E. "Billy" and Deanna Guthrie of Alamo; four grandchildren, Michael Guthrie, Kathleen McIntyre, Bruce Roberts and Terri Roberts Cooper, nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Jan. 31 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Hom Home with Jackson Moore officiating. "How Great Thou Art" was played on CD. Interment was in Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Rodger Swann, Donnie Brogdon, Bobby Watson, Russell Nix, D Donald Powell, Bart Fountain. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
