Jacqueline “Jacque” Guthrie, 78, of Ray City, died May 12, 2014, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. She was born October 31, 1935, to the late Edward M. and Elsie Lee Roberts Guice in Sullivan, TN. She was a retired antique dealer, a member of First Baptist Church of Ray City, and an active civic volunteer and leader, especially in the Ray City community. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Guice, and a sister, Elizabeth Kate Guice. Survivors include her husband, Carroll B. Guthrie of Ray City; daughters, Cynthia Carter of Ray City and Maurty Castle of Nashville; step-children, Larry and Sun Guthrie of Navarre, FL, Carol G. Lawrence of Titusville, FL; Bart and Cara Staples of Orlando, FL; Mike and Densie Guthrie of Merritt Island, FL; brother and sister in law, James and Bea Guice of Niangua, MO; sister and brother in law, Patricia and Ferris Maddox of Moneta, VA. Funeral services were held May 17 at 12 noon at First Baptist Church of Ray City with burial following at New Ramah Cemetery. Music Funeral Services of Lakeland was in charge of arrangements.
