She was born in Pulaski County, Missouri to the late Elbert and Mary Rebecca (Carmack) Bryan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph G. Hackett, her parents and her eight siblings; Ethel Johannen, Olga Nickels, Lena Beasley, Jesse Bryan, John Bryan, Ruth Turpin, Harold Bryan, and Mary Bays. Mrs. Hackett was baptized on November 1, 1930, and was a member of the Crocker Christion Church in Crocker, Missouri. She attended the Nashville United Methodist Church for over 50 years. As part of Mr. Hackett’s service in the Air Force, they traveled the world, and for a time, lived in Europe. They had a wonderful life together until his death in 1989. Mrs. Hackett enjoyed being a “military wife” and was active in the auxiliary. She was an excellent homemaker and a very talented seamstress. During her life, she had many pets. She loved all animals, especially cats. She is survived by several nieces and nephews and many good friends. Funeral services were held January 28 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Reverend Stephen Webb officiating. Interment followed in Westview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Berrien County (No Kill) Humane Society are encouraged. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
