He was born May 4, 1924, in Burke County to the late Joseph Franklin and Fannie Mays Haile. He was retired as a Yard Master with Atlantic Coastline Railroad (now CSX), retired Colonel from the U.S. Army Reserve, served in the Navy during WWII, member of Nashville First Baptist Church, American Legion and the VFW. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marilee Hughes Haile of Nashville; son Joe (Diane) Haile of Adel; three grandchildren, Kim (Danny)Haile of Adel; Mandy (Chuck) Bryan, and Bubba (Laura) Bailey; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held December 15 at 11 a.m. at Nashville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Luke and Rev. Danny Ray officiating. Interment was in Westview Cemetery. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
