  Vernie Martin Hamby, age 93, of Cedartown passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 
2015.
 She was born on November 14, 1921, in Rome, GA. She was the daughter of the 
late Oscar and Prudie McFrye Martin.
 Ms. Hamby is survived by her daughter, Patricia “Pat” Sutton; sons, Terry Wade 
Hamby and Eric “Toby” Hamby; sister, Hester Wheeler; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-
grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and special friend, Fred Wray.
 Ms. Hamby is preceded in death by her parents, husband, James A. “Dick” Hamby; 
son, Mark Laney Hamby and several brothers and sisters.
 Funeral services were held on Friday, April 17 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Danny Tucker 
and Mr. Jason Hamby officiating.
 Interment was in Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery.
 Pallbearers were Jason Hamby, Eric Hamby, Matthew Sanders, Drew Sanders, Alan 
Collier and Jacob Hamby.
