 Irene Hampton, 83, of Nashville died October 16, 2005 at Lakeland Villa 
Convalescent Home.

 Born July 22, 1922 in Colquitt County to the late Allen and Janie Griffin 
Cummings, she was a homemaker and member of Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist 
Church. She was married to the late Tom Hampton.

 Survivors include daughter, Patricia Brown of Willacoochee; three sons, 
Michael Hampton of Valdosta, James Hampton of Orange Park, FL, Gerald Hampton 
of Nashville; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.

 Funeral services were held October 18 at 2 p.m. at Poplar Sprngs Missionary 
Baptist Church with the Revs. Junior Swain and J.W. Dukes, III, officiating. 
The church choir provided appropriate music.

 Interment was in Poplar Springs Cemetery.

 Pallbearers were Steve Hampton, Wayne Hampton, Thomas Hampton, Jerome 
Kilpatrick, Mike Hand, James Hampton.

 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
