Hancock died at her home east of Lenox in Berrien County October 21 after an illness of two or three weeks, fever causing her death. Mrs. Hancock was a good woman and a kind neighbor and friend and her death is greatly regretted, as attested by the very large attendance at her funeral. She was forty years of age and had lived in that community a number of years. She was a devoted member of the Primitive Baptist Church. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. L.A. Hancock and were deeply impressive. Mr. and Mrs. Hancock were sorely bereaved last year when two of their children died within a few days of each other and in her death her husband and children have the tender sympathy of many friends. Surviving Mrs. Hancock are her husband and five children, Mrs. Sylvestus Webb and Mrs. Roy Wilkerson of Berrien County and William, Elwood and Jessie Lee Hancock who resided with their father and mother. The services were held at Pine Grove Church Monday and the pallbearers were cousins of the deceased and were: Elias, Marion, Lucius, Levan, Curtis, and Ethridge Pafford. – Adel News.
