The Berrien Press -- Verdie Alma Powell Harnage, 82, of Valdosta died March 1, 
2006 at Louis Smith Memorial Hospital in Lakeland.
 Born December 13, 1923 in Nashville to the late Bart and Carey Kirkland 
Powell, she was a member of Naylor Holiness Church. She was married to the 
late Marion Harnage.
 Survivors include six daughters, Thelma Edmondson of Valdosta, Glenda Petty 
of Naylor, Louise Whaley of Valdosta, Elizabeth Partin of Hazelhurst, Teresa 
Hall of Lakeland, Gloria Bennett of Salt Springs, FL; one son, David Harnage 
of Valdosta; one sister, Fannie Bell Flake of Hilliard, FL and one half-
sister, Agnes Mills of Nashville; numerous grandchildren and great-
grandchildren.
 Funeral services were held March 3 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Carson McLane 
Funeral Home with the Revs. Archie Anderson and Dennis Rowland officiating.
 Interment was in Good Hope Cemetery in Naylor.
 Carson McLane Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.
