 James L. "Jack" Harper, 61, of the West Berrien community died July 24, 1998 
at Tallahassee Memorial Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee, FL.
 Born Nov. 16, 1936 in Berrien Co., to the late Dempsey and Blanch McMillan 
Harper, he was a graduate of The University of Georgia, an insurance agent, 
and a member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
 Survivors include his wife, Patricia Carter Harper of West Berrien; four 
sons, Kyle Harper of Enigma, Brent Harper of Nashville, Clay Harper of West 
Berrien, Carter Harper of Anchorage, Alaska; seven grandchildren.
 Funeral services were held July 26 at 4 p.m. at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist 
Church with the Revs. Wayne Roberts and Wayne Roe officiating. Interment was 
in Pine Grove Cemetery.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
