Born January 18, 1946 in Berrien County to the late Purley and Cozetta Moore Harper, he was a retired supervisor at Nashville Mills with 36 years of service. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and was married to the late Jolly Jenkins Harper. Survivors include one daughter, Jodie Roberts of Alapaha; two sons, John Harper and Justin Harper both of Alapaha; one sister, Becky Davis of Alapaha; two brothers, Jimmy Harper of Hinesville and George Harper of Alapaha; ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Padgett and a brother, Donald Harper. A Rosary was held October 23 at 6:30 p.m.. Funeral services were held October 24 at 11 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church with Father Alfonso Gutierrez officiating. Freddie Temples and Greg Shoupe provided vocal selections. Darlene Turner provided organ music. Interment was in Glory Cemetery. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
