Born March 8, 1942 in Berrien County to Bessie Griffin Harper of Nashville and the late Aubrey Harper, he was a sawmill plane operator. He was married to the late Frances Fender Harper. Survivors in addition to his mother include two daughters, Tammie Terry of Sparks and Peggy Tison of Lenox; one sister, Wanda Wood of Zepherhills, FL; three brothers, Perry Harper and Russell Harper, both of Nashville, Herman Harper of Shingle Springs, CA; one granddaughter. Funeral services were held June 18 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Revs. Franklin Vinson and Johnny Smith officiating. Joyce Strom sang "Amazing Grace" and "Homecoming Day." Interment was in Mt. Paron Cemetery. Pallbearers were Rusy Harper, Chris Harper, Larry Heath, Dewey Hand, Klim NeSmith, Bubba Ayers, Rev. Orville Hurst. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
