 The Berrien Press--Betty Griffin Harper, 87, of Berrien Co. died Oct. 6, 2003 
at Palemon Gaskins Nursing Home in Ocilla.
  Born Feb. 10, 1916 in Berrien Co. to the late Obie and Mary Luke Griffin, she 
was a homemaker and former employee of Dill's Grocery in Ocilla. She was a 
member of Springhill Primitive Baptist Church and Springhill Church Hill Top 
Club. She was married to the late Herbert Harper.
  Survivors include two daughters, Mary Alice Smith of Alapaha and Shirley Ralph 
of Jacksonville, FL; one son, Densil Harper of Woodbine; one sister, Christine 
Walker of Enigma; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
  Interment was in the church cemetery.
  Paulk Funeral Home of Ocilla was in charge of arrangements.
