Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lovein Funeral Home with S.G. Solomon, Jr., Andy Solomon, Tommy Sp Spikes and Jerry Morrell officiating. Musical selections included "Rock of Ag Ages," "Amazing Grace," "I Stand all Amazed" and "How Great Thou Art." Burial will follow at Nashville Memorial Gardens with full military honors. V Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Mr. Harrell was born Oct. 6, 1919 in Grady County to the late Eldon Raymond Harrell and Aldie Strickland. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II where he piloted B-24 bombers and was a 20-year retiree as a major in the U.S. Air Force, where he piloted B-29 bombers during the Korean Conflict. He was an instructor pilot for the B-47 post-war. He earned a dozen medals for his bravery in both wars. After m military retirement, he graduated from Valdosta State University with a m master's degree in education supervision and was employed with the Berrien C County Board of Education for 20 years, serving as principal in the West B Berrien and Enigma schools. After his second retirement, he set up shop making j jams, jellies, relishes, salsa and various wooden crafts. Mr. Harrell is survived by his wife, Mavis Hooton Harrell of Nashville; two daughters, Heather Walker of Nashville and Melanie Cameron of Cookesville, Tenn.; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Paul and Kathy Harrell of Nashville, Greg and Sherry Harrell of Valdosta and Karl Harrell of Nashville; one sister, Elsie Stewart of Leesburg; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. grandchildren.
