She was born November 27, 1922 in Monroe, Utah to the late Ephraim Levar Hooton and the late Edna Bates Hooton. She was a retired teacher with the Berrien County Board of Education with over 20 years of service. She was a certified pilot, accomplished poet and during WWII she even made templates for bombs at the Hill Air Force Base in Utah. She received both her undergraduate and master's degrees from VSU and was a member of the Nashville Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was the widow of Franklin Harrell who died in 2010 and was also preceded in death by 2 daughters, Luana Harrell and Mela Melanie Cameron, 2 sisters and 4 brothers. She is survived by a daughter, Heather (Johnny) Walker of Nashville; sons, Gre Greg (Sherry) Harrell of Valdosta, Paul Harrell of Nashville and Karl Harrell of of Nashville; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday July 27, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the Nashville Wa Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Michael Spikes and Mr Mr. S.G. Solomon officiating. Interment followed in the Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation was Wednesday f from 7 to 9 p. Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville, handled the arrangements.
