She was born February 9, 1913 in Berrien County to the late John D. Hancock a and the late Georgia Futch. She was the wife of John Troy Harris to whom she w was married for 53 years until his death on September 24, 1985. She loved her h husband and daughters so very much and worked diligently at giving them a good h home. She was involved in her church, Nashville Progressive Primitive Baptist, o of which she was a charter member along with her husband and 16 other Christian s souls. She remained the oldest and longest living charter member until the c church could no longer keep its doors open, which saddened her deeply. She and h her sister, Oppie Lee Powell, continued to attend a church nearby until age l limited their traveling. The family is very grateful for the loving care that w was given to her and her sister, Oppie, by Joyce Flanders and Lillian Moore. S She is also preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Darla Matthews of Waycross and E'Wanna Thompson of Montgomery, AL; five grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on June 5 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral home home with the Rev. Mike Gibbs officiating. Music on CD included "Amazing Grac Grace," "Because He Lives," and "My Tribute." Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Terry Lucas, Steve Lucas, Mitch Matthews, Keith Dryden, Do Donald Powell, Earl Powell, C.J. Carpenter. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
