Born Aug. 5, 1936 in Toombs Co., he was the son of the late Sam and Ruth Jackson Haskins. He was a retired Tech Sgt. E-6, U.S. Air Force, with 22 years service. He also retired from Civil Service after 20 years. A member of Open Door Baptist Church, he was married to the late Ruby Nell Ivey Haskins who died Aug. 25, 2004. Survivors include three daughters, Cindy Haskins and Vicki Haskins both of Valdosta, Becky (Mike) Adams of Lake Park; one sister, Evelyn Caraway of Vidalia; one brother, Curtis Haskins of Waynesboro; one grandson, Joshua Adams. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister. Funeral services were held on Aug. 27 at 2 p.m. at Open Door Baptist Church with the Revs. Gary James and Junior Swain officiating. Becky Futch, JoAnna Bryan, and Gary James sang "Amazing Grace: and "I'll Be Home Before Dark." Interment with full military honors was in Open Door Cemetery.
