NASHVILLE -- Laura Jane Heaton, 90, Alapaha, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999 at 
Berrien County Hospital. Born Nov. 20, 1908, in Berrien County, she was the 
daughter of Ealie Luke and Mary Flanders. She was a homemaker and a member of 
St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. She was the widow of James Wesley Heaton. 
 Survivors are one daughter in law, Melba Stone, Springfield; one sister, 
Maude Heaton, Alapaha; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Johnny Woodrow 
Stone. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., today in St. Luke Cemetery. 
The Rev. Bobby Fussell will officiate.
