Born August 10, 1918 in Chatham County to the late George Washington and Fannie Lou Taylor Wood, she was a homemaker and retired corporate secretary with Nabisco. She was a member of Peekskill Baptist Church in Peekskill, New York. She was married to the late John Joseph Herlihy. Survivors include one daughter, Laura Herlihy of Eatonton; two sons, Dr. Jack Herlihy of Stamping Ground and Richard Herlihy of Hopewell Junction, NY; one brother, Glenn Wood of Savannah; five grandchildren, Shannon Shay, Little Jack, Colin, Christian and Corey. Funeral services were held June 18 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Gibbs officiating. Darlene Jernigan provided music. Interment was in Beaver Dam Cemetery in Ray City. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
