Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. July 20 at Lovein Funeral Home with th the Rev. David Akins officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery. Vi Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Songs on CD included "One Day At A Time" and "How Great Thou Art." Pallbearers were Alton Exum, Don Williams, Dane Perkins, Newt Hughes, Harry M McNabb, David Taylor, Donnie Connell, Randy Hancock, Wynn Hancock. Mrs. Herndon was born Nov. 6, 1921 in Sumter County to the late Hilton Perry and Eugenia Sules. She was a retired school teacher with Berrien County School System. She was a member of Nashville First Baptist Church where she taught primary Sunday school classes for many years. She was also a member of the Georgia Retired Teacher’s Association. She was the widow of James Herndon, who d died in 2009; and was also preceded in death by her son, Chuck Herndon, who d died in 1971, and her adopted parents, John and Mary Lou Harper. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jon and Lou Buckner of LaVista LaVista, Neb.; daughter-in-law, Paula Raley of Adel; and granddaughters, Amanda B Buckner of Washington, D.C., and Rachel Buckner of Omaha, Neb.
