Born April 17, 1919 in Lowndes County to the late William and Ida Barker Hightower, he was a retired machinist for Metal Products. He served with the U.S. Army in WWII and was married to the late Clara Bell Thornton Hightower. Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Lane of Nashville; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held May 6 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Revs. John Hendley and Johnny Smith officiating. Charles and Rebecca Bristol sang "Family Circle" and "Go Rest High On That Mountain." Interment was in Cat Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike McEachern, Randy Kelley, Bill Bristol, George Carver, Jeremey Howze, Charles Bristol. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
