Born October 29, 1952, in Berrien County to Mary Palmore Hobbs of Nashville and the late Claude Hobbs, he attended Berrien County School and was formerly employed with Chaparral Boats. He was owner of Buddy’s Concrete. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Rosalind Davis Hobbs; five children, Dylette Davis of California, Claude Howard Hobbs, Kema (Kinsey) Ross and Evette Preston, all of Nashville, and Exstarvia Gibson of Adel; 11 grandchildren, Lee, Jordan, Jalysia, Chavious, Kelsey, Gabrielle, James Desmond, Erica, Jamori and Makyla; brother, Claude(Barbara) Hobbs of River View, FL; sisters, Claudia (Hardie) Johnson of Bainbridge and Carrrie M. Hobbs of Nashville; mother-in-law, Willie M. Davis of Nashville; brothers-in-law, Donnie (Adeline) Boone, Jr. and Desmond (Adrian) Boone; five sisters-in-law, Nanette (Charles) Lott, Kim (Gary) Hester, Lillian (Benjamin) Robinson, Denita (Vernon) Howard and Michelle Boone; special god-daughter, Vanessa Ross, god-children, children, Keaira and Tranton; many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held August 25 at 1 p.m. at The Bridge Church in Nashville with Pastor Robbie Rowe and Elder Johnny Davis officiating. Musical selections were given by The Traveling Choir, a solo by Pastor Keisha Ferguson, and “I Wish” by Trae Charles. A prayer was given by Rev. Bernard Collier and sc scripture readings by Pastor Leroy Capers, Dr. Leonard Hobbs, and Robby Rowe, pa pastor of The Bridge Church. A eulogy was given by Deacon Henry Baker and Elder Jo Johnny Davis closed with words of comfort. Interment was in Eastview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Andy Williams, Anthony McKever, Joshua Davis, Chris Davis, Malick Malick Davis, Nick Griglen. Honorary pallbearers were Deacon Eddie Mathis, Deacon Bobby Everett, Samuel McKever McKever, Curtis Green, Bangamin Robinson, Jerome Eady. Black and Son Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
