Born July 25, 1950 in Henry County, VA to Ella Vernell Perdue Wheeler of Hahira and the late Doc Benjamin Hodges, he was a service station attendant and small appliance technician. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving in Vietnam. Survivors, in addition to his mother, included his wife, Samantha Lyons Hodges of Nashville; one daughter, Tammy Jean Hodges of Arizona; one son, Johnny Lee Hodges of Arizona; one sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Donnie Cunndiff of Rocky Mount, VA; one brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Kim Hodges of Hahira. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Penny Lynn Hodges. Funeral services were held April 10 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Dwight Bishop officiating.
