Born October 26, 1932 in St. Francis County, Arkansas to the late William Irvin and Mamie Elizabeth Johnson Hollis, he was retired as hyster operator with Nashville Mills. He was a member of New Fellowship Church and attended Nashville Mission. He was married to the late Retha Mae Fountain Hollis who died October 17, 2007. He served with the U.S. Air Force. Survivors include three special nephews, Timothy Fountain and Stanley Fountain both of Nashville, and Jeff Fountain of Colorado Springs, CO; three sisters, Estelle Hill of Palestine, AR, Edith Smysner of Kelleyville, OK, Irene Smysner of Ridgecrest, CA; two brothers, Melvin Mervin Hollis of Memphis, TN, Jack Hollis of Haines, AR; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Viola Wright and Jewell Parker; three brothers, O.C. Johnson, Edmond Hollis, John Hollis. Funeral services were held Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Clarence Luke officiating. Terry Hesters and Johnny Brantley sang "One Day at a Time." and the Pafford Family sang "When I Travel the Last Mile" and "Look What I Traded for a Mansion." Interment was in Westview Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Ray Hesters, Tommy Watson, Larry Watson, Bud Whitley, Buck Warren, Michael Bailey, Chris Cribb. Honorary pallbearers were Darrel Walker, Terry Hesters, Rudolph Cornelius, Robert Lavender, Mel Tucker, Carl Pafford, Charlie Bryant. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
