Born March 11, 1931, in Lanier County to the late Noah Lee and Callie Mae Harnage Harnage Roe, she was a homemaker and member of Knights Memorial Missionary B Baptist Church. She was the widow of L.D. Hughes who died in 2003 and was also p preceded in death by two brothers, J.C. Roe and William Roe; sister, Ollie Mae B Bennett. Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Miley and Barbara Seago, both of Hahira, and Linda Beth Thomas of Valdosta; son, Howard Hughes of Danville; sister, Edna Fender of Hollywood, FL; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held April 15 at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home Home with the Revs. Glynn Rowell and Vernon Hughes officiating. Mandy West sang sang "He Lives" and "Wind Beneath My Wings," "Amazing Grace" was played on CD. Interment followed in Empire Cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
