Hughes, of Nashville. Mr. Hughes had been in declining health for some time, but his condition did not become serious until the past few days. Developing pneumonia as a complication, he died almost suddenly. Mr. Hughes was a most highly respected citizen of the county where he had made his home for many years, and was well and favorably known throughout South Georgia. The funeral services will be this afternoon at Lakeland, Georgia. The Valdosta chapter of the Spanish War veterans will attend the service in a body. Mr. Hughes was a veteran of the war with Spain. Besides his wife, Mr. Hughes is survived by several children and other relatives in this section.
