Berrien County Sheriff Succumbs to Attack
	Nashville, Ga. – Sheriff N.N. Hughes of Berrien County died suddenly 
Saturday after suffering a heart attack at 2 p.m.
	Sheriff Hughes, who had served six terms in Berrien County and was 
recently re-elected for the seventh time, had been ill for some time.  He 
recently underwent surgical treatment and had apparently recovered.  He was at 
his office Saturday morning.  The attack occurred while Sheriff Hughes was at 
home for lunch.
	He is survived by his wife; four daughters, Mrs. R.E. Williams, Mrs. 
Zack Brown, Mrs. Frank Hale, and Mrs. Walter T. Lowe, Jr., all of Nashville, and 
two sons, J.W. Hughes and Marcus Hughes, who served as his deputies.
	Funeral services and interment took place Monday morning at Nashville.
