 Robert L. "Rob" Jackson, 88, Nashville, passed away July 10, 1998 at South 
Georgia Medical Center. He was born April 13, 1910 in Cook Co. to Robert F. 
Jackson and Leila Wilkerson. He was the retired owner of Jack's Supermarket. He 
was a member of First Baptist Church, past member of Duncan Lodge 234, served 
30 years on the Nashville Fire Department having retired as the fire chief, 
past Scoutmaster for 18 years having received the Silver Bear award. He was a 
past city councilman for the City of Nashville, a veteran of World War II and a 
member of the National Guard.

 He is survived by his wife, Sara Griffin Jackson, Nashville; two daughters, 
Mary Frank Gaskins, Nashville and Barbara Jean Folsom, Crestview, FL; six 
grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

 Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Nashville First Baptist 
Church. The Rev. Billy Southerland and the Rev. Fred Hesters will officiate. 
Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. Visitation is today after 4 p.m. 
with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m.

  Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville, is in charge of arrangements.
