She was born March 5, 1943, in Indianapolis, IN to the late Oscar and Beatrice Irene Edmondson Carpenter. She was a homemaker, worked at the Nashville Alternative Center and attended Open Door Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Burks, a brother, Donald Eugene Carpenter, and two great-grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Franco of Tifton and Mary (Ricky) Daniel of Nashville; two sons, Robert Eugene Burks of Nashville and William “Billy” Julian of Nashville’ four sisters, Edna Blanton and Helen Shields, both of Indianapolis, Sandy Robison of Brazil, IN, and Charlene Muston of MS; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held October 19 at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary James officiating. Interment was in Open Door Cemetery. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
