Born April 25, 1929, in Berrien County to the late Arthur and Lillie Mae Jones James, he was owner of James NAPA Auto Parts for 48 years. He was a United States States Army veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabe Elizabeth Jean "Betty" James who died in 2005. Survivors include daughter, Joni Tygart of Nashville; sons, Tony James of Atlant Atlanta and Scott James of Nashville; sisters, Mazella Bennett and Mary Ruth Medley Medley both of Nashville; brother, Everett James of Lenox; four grandchildren. Funeral services were held March 29 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funer Funeral Home with Rev. Mickey Lindsey officiating. Selected music was provided. Interment was in Gaskins Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ronnie Gaskins, Rusty Darby, Greg Mathis, Guy Mathis, Jeff Jon Jones, Ronald Bennett.
