He was born August 29, 1942, in Washington, NC, to the late Joseph P., Sr., and Mary Lou Adams Jamieson. He was a 1960 graduate of Jeff Davis High School where he was a Georgia State long-jump champion. He attended Massey Business College in Atlanta and Valdosta State College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was production control manager for Patchogue Plymouth, Nashville Mills Division, in the 1970's and 80's, having transferred from the company's Hazlehurst facility. He was an amateur radio operator, having been a member of ARRL since his teen years and was an avid golfer. He was a former president of the Berrien County Jaycees. He was formerly married to Wenda Gaile Bailey of Nashville. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer L. (Jenny) and Rodney E. Smith, Jr., and a granddaughter, Madison Taylor Smith of Nashville; one brother and sister-in-law, Larry B. and Faye Dyal Jamieson of Duluth; one sister and brother-in-law, Richard and Eugenia (Jeannie) Hursey of Lawrenceville; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Destiny Taylor Smith. Funeral services were held February 10 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Simmons officiating. Music was provided by Jack and Betty Joiner, who sang, "Go Rest High On That Mountain" and "I Want To Stroll Over Heaver With You," accompanied by Charlotte Dickerson, pianist. Interment was in Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bryan Jamieson, Larry Heath, Elton Smith, John Hursey, III, Dusty Bailey, Richard Hursey, Van Jones, Matthew Hill.
