Jefferson Died Last Sunday Mr. J. Allen Jefferson, 60 year old Berrien County farmer, died Sunday morning at 1:30 o’clock from a stroke of paralysis, at his home four miles south of Nashville on the Valdosta road. He had been ill for a week. Reverend A.H. Hendley conducted the funeral services at Riverside Church on Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock. Pall bearers were friends of the deceased, Hansel Morris, Walter Dix, Fred Napier, Henry Ray, Emory Ray, and Caulie Faulkner. Choral offering was given by a quartet composed of N.H. Harper, Roy Davis, Mrs. Charlie Griffin, and E.E. Dorsey. Interment was in the Riverside cemetery. For the past four years Mr. Jefferson has farmed on the J.M. Dix farm on Route 2. He was born in South Carolina in January of 1879 and was married to Miss Annie Ray of Nashville, twenty-six years ago. His wife died several years ago. He is survived by three sons and two daughters, Eliba Jefferson, J.E. Jefferson, and Lankford Jefferson, Mrs. J.R. Napier, and Miss Pauline Jefferson, all of Nashville.
