Judy was born in Sandersville, GA on July 23, 1946, to the late William and Namoi Smith Chivers. Judy was a cherished member of Concord Primitive Baptist Church where she found comfort in her deep love for Jesus and fellowship among the members. Judy's joy radiated when surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She created lasting memories through board games and card games with everyone she played with. She found serenity in the mountains and enjoyed her many travels there. Judy's cooking skills were unmatched, and her warm presence and delicious meals will be dearly missed at family and church gatherings. Survivors include her sons, Timothy (Angie) Jernigan of Nashville and Dave (Angie) Griffin of Pound, Virginia; daughters, Patty Jernigan of Nashville, Brandi Jernigan Edge (David Edge) of Nashville, and Cyndi Warren of Calhoun, GA; grandchildren, Kansas Jernigan, Brittney Jernigan, Timothy Jernigan, Jr., Daniel Jernigan, Cody Griffin and Kristy Griffin; great-grandchildren, Troy Pearson, Wyntter Shiaynn Willoughy, and Kasper Phipps; her brother, Don Chivers of Nashville; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Zeus. She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Jernigan. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Concord Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Robert Tucker, and Pastor Daniel Morris officiating. Interment will follow at Concord Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends one hour before the service at the church.
