He was born May 12, 1946, in Augusta to the late Lonnie and Lois Eva James Johnikin. He was a supervisor of several stores with Holiday Market and of the Assembly of God faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Josey Rowland; three sisters, Betty Ann Johnikin Daniels, Gladys Mae Johnikin Manning and Mary Elizabeth Johnikin Kersey; brother, Tommy O’ Neil Johnikin. He is survived by his wife, Carol Sue Ray Johnikin of Nashville; two daughters, Marty (Ian) Bridges of Middleburg, FL and Stephanie (Phillip) Rowan of Nashville; two sons, Steve (Janice) Rowland of Nashville and Felix Roland of Nashville; brother, John (Charlotte) Johnikin of Augusta; three sisters, Minnie Elizabeth Johnikin Grooms of Rocky Ford, Amy L Johnikin McDonald of Augusta, and Shirley Jean (Roach) Johnikin Reynold of Martinez; brother-in-law, Donald (Mary)Ray of Nashville; sister-in-law, Billie Jean Davis Ray of Valdosta; 12 grandchildren, Corey (Kaylie) Rowan, Andrew Rowan, Devin Rowland, Christian Rowland, Trevor Broadbridge, Drake Rowland, Logan Rowland, Kyra Rowland, Hailey Rowland, Summer Broadbridge, Catalina Broadbridge, and Dallas (Little Roach)Rowan; a great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 3 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond Cason officiating. Interment was in Nashville Memorial Gardens. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
