He was born April 19, 1982. A 2nd Lt. in the United States Army, he served as a registered nurse at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, TX. He graduated from Berrien High School in 2000, and subsequently graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing. He served as Secretary of Valdosta State University’s Association of Nursing Students and was readily appointed as an executive board member of Georgia’s A Association of Nursing Students. Survivors include his parents, USAF Ret. Msgt. Robert Ray Jones (AMMO) and Terrie Lea Jones of Ray City; two brothers, Adam Jones, 22, (GCO) and USAF, A1C Christopher Jones 20, (EOD); four sisters, Nicole Williams, 28, Savannah Barber, 19, Sydney Jones, 11 and Alexandria Mackenzie Jones, 5; two nieces, Madison Williams and Macy Jones; three nephews, Brady Williams, Brandon Jones and Conner Jones; paternal grandparents, Ray and Veronica Jones of Townville, SC; maternal grandparents, USAF Ret. Msgt, Michael Sperling (AMMO) and the late Barbara Jean Sperling; step-grandmother, Sherry Sperling. Lt. Jones was escorted from San Antonio, TX, to his final resting place by R Ret. Ssgt. Robert Potts of the United States Air Force. He received full m military honors hosted by Army personnel from Fort Benning and the Patriot R Riders. Funeral services were held Sept. 1 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Palmer officiating. Music on CD included “I’m Crying For You” and “Heaven Was Needing a Hero.” Interment with full military honors was in Beaver Dam Cemetery. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
