  Eugene Talmadge “Gene” Jones, 87, of Nashville died Monday, March 24, 2015, at 
the Fellowship Home in Valdosta.
 He was born June 18, 1927, in Berrien County to the late Fisher and Mary Rachel 
Griffin Jones. He was a retired property manager, member of Nashville First 
Baptist Church, charter member and past president of the Nashville/Berrien 
Rotary Club, and a veteran of the United States Navy having served in World War 
II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Scarborough Jones, five 
brothers, and two sisters.
 He is survived by two sons, Michael (Tara) Jones of Nashville and Phil Jones of 
Valdosta; four grandchildren, Courtney (James) Howell and Lindsi Jones, both of 
Valdosta, Collin Jones of Nashville, and Cameron (Sarah) Jones of Brunswick; one 
great-granddaughter, Lottie Howell of Valdosta; five sisters, Martha Hayes and 
Mamie Lee Moore, both of Nashville, Ina Ruth Hendley of Dadeville, Al, Rachel 
Jacobs of Ovieda, FL and Margie Snoderly of Jackson; one brother William Jones 
of Ovieda, FL.
 Funeral services were held on March 27 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Lovein 
Funeral Home with the Rev. Stanley Luke officiating.
 Interment was in Westview Cemetery.
 Memorials may be made in his memory to Camp J.D. Tygart of the United Methodist 
Church.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
