"Charlie" Jones, Jr., 76, of Nashville died April 1, 2005 at Tallahassee Memorial Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee, FL. Born May 28, 1928 in Cobb County to the late Charles A. and Lucille McClain Jones, he graduated from Boys' High School in Atlanta and attended Gordon Military College and Georgia Technical Institute. He worked for Lockheed Aircraft Corporation in Marietta and New Ideal Sprayer Co. in Nashville. He was founder of Obsolete Ford Parts Co. in Nashville and the Nashville All Ford Swap Meet. He was a member of Nashville United Methodist Church where he served in numerous positions, was a member of the Men's Bible Class, and served as lay delegate to the South Georgia Annual Conference for 25 years. He also served in other positions of the United Methodist Church including the Camp Tygart Board of Trustees, the Valdosta District Board of Trustees, the Commission on Finance and Administration for the South Georgia Conference, the South Georgia Conference Foundation, the South Georgia Conference Board of Missions, and the Magnolia Manor Board of Trustees. He was a member of the Emmaus Community. He was currently serving as a member of The Citizens Bank Board of Directors and the loan committee. After his retirement from Obsolete Ford Parts, he worked with family members at Southern Grace Farms in Bemiss. Survivors include his wife, Ann Tygart Jones of Nashville; three daughters, Laura McMillan of West Berrien, Amy Postell of St. Marys and Julie Jones of Irving, TX; four sisters, Rosemary Cox of Atlanta, Beth Crabill of Sautee, Nancy Snipes and Lucy Cooley, both of Marietta; six grandchildren. Funeral services were held April 4 at 11 a.m. at Nashville United Methodist Church with the Revs. Dwight Bishop, Richard Trawick and Bill McTier officiating. The congregation sang "Victory in Jesus," "Because He Lives," and "On Jordan's Stormy Banks I Stand," accompanied by Renee Gaskins, pianist. Interment was in Peeples-Tygart Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Bo Lovein, Wayne Stallings, Michael Jones, Rick Carter, Jerry Brogdon, Greg Donahue, Thomas Clayton, Jackie Dove. Members of the Men's Bible Class of Nashville United Methodist Church and the Board of Directors of The Citizens Bank served as honorary pallbearers.
