Born November 28, 1930 in Irwin County to the late Benjamin Bartow and Lula Mae Soules Joyce, he was an automobile mechanic and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He church membership was at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Survivors include three daughters, Sandra (Melvin) Buchanan of Enigma, Linda (Bobby) Harnage of Tifton, Cynthia (John) Keanon of Douglas; two sons, Wayne (Terri) Joyce of Alapaha, Lamar (Traci) Joyce of Nashville; one sister, Dorothy Mae Joyce Griffin of Alapaha; 14 grandchildren, five great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Franklin Barney Joyce, and a great- grandson, Andrew Daman Joyce, who were also killed in the wreck and one grandson, James Buchanan. Funeral service will be held Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Douglas with Bishop Gary Flanders officiating. Interment was in Hebron Church Cemetery in Coffee County. Sims Funeral Home of Douglas was in charge of arrangements.
