Born December 16, 1951 in Bradenton, FL to the late John "Jiggs" and Winnell Hughes Kemp, he was a welder. He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era in Germany. Survivors include his wife, Patricia A. Kemp of Alapaha; three sons, Rory D. "Butch" Auchtung and Armond Auchtung, both of Alapaha, Michael Auchtung of Bushnell, FL; two brothers, John David Kemp and John Allen Kemp both of Enigma; two sisters, Carol Miley and Shirley Bryant, both of Adel; two grandchildren. A memorial service was held March 19 at 1 p.m. at Alapaha Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Gibbs, pastor, officiating. Joel Dixon served as pianist and soloist. A eulogy was given by Eugene Owen and a closing prayer by Darien Lee. Paulk Funeral Home of Fitzgerald was in charge of arrangements.
