 Wendell Lossie Kent, 78, of Nashville, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, at South G
Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta.
 Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the chapel of Lovein Funeral 
Home, with the Rev. Mark Swain and the Rev. Junior Swain officiating. Interment 
with full military rites was held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Grandson, Robert Kee
Keeffe, helped fold a U.S. flag and presented it to his grandmother.
The Cross Creek Church choir sang "The Last Mile of the Way," "What a Day That Wi
Will Be," "What Will I Leave Behind" and "Father Along."
 Born Jan. 13, 1932 in Berrien County, Mr. Kent was the son of Lossie Kent and P
Pauline Sirmons, both deceased.
 He was an Army veteran of Korea War and was a retired cabinet maker with C
Chaparral Boats. He was a member of Cross Creek Church.
 Mr. Kent is survived by his wife, Ruth Evelyn Parker Kent of Nashville; two 
daughters, Cynthia Mixon of Eatonton and Cathy Kent of St. Marys; two sisters, 
Elva Shaw of Nashville and Shirley McCoy of Rincon; one brother, Gene Kent of 
Adel; his grandchildren, Kellie Webb, Scott Carroll Mixon, Robert Keeffe and 
James Keeffe; and one great-granddaughter, Katie Keeffe.
 Active pallbearers were Bruce Mathis, Brian Lanier, Jesse Stone, David Keeffe,
Trav
Travis Watson, Earl Wayne Browning.
 honorary pallbearers were Don Swain, William Herring, J.W. Hendley, Sonny Odu
Odum, Jerry Cooper, W.E. Hughes.
 Lovein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
