 Carl Douglas Kimmerling, Sr., 69, of Nashville died Feb. 23, 2010, at his re
residence after a lengthy illness.
 Born Jan. 22, 1941, in Anderson, IN, to the late Alda and Eva Brown K
Kimmerling, he was a truck driver with Folds Dump and Backhoe Service before r
retiring. He was a descendant of the Dahlega Cherokee Tribe.
 Survivors include his wife, Carol Walker of Nashville; seven sons and four 
daughters-in-law, Edward and Melissa Kimmerling, Alan and Elizabeth Kimmerling, 
Mike Kimmerling, Joseph Kimmerling, all of Valdosta, Timothy and Anita 
Kimmerling of Quitman, Carl Kimmerling, II and wife, Brenda Kaye of Pearson, 
Eric Kimmerling of GA; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kristina and Pete 
Willaford of Quitman, Lana and Craig Siska of Adel, Angie and Damond Wood of 
Adel; 26 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In 
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Richard “Dick”
Kimmerling, and granddaughter, Christie Lee Royal.
 Funeral services were held Feb. 24 at Purvis Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Turner
officiating. Carl Kimmerling, Jr. played

 Funeral services were held Feb. 24 at Purvis Funeral Home with Rev. Phil 
Turner officiating. Carl Kimmerling, Jr. played “Amazing Grace” on the flute and
and Tim Kimmerling played the drums.
 Cremation followed the service.
 Purvis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
