He was born July 22, 1939, in Berrien County to the late Leroy and Rebecca King. He farmed throughout his whole life and was employed by Amoco Fabrics for 23 years and retired in 1995. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Cifton King, and sister, Clara Lee king. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Virginia Brantley King of Alapaha; daughter and son-in-law, Joann King Hancock (Craig) of Alapaha, daughter, Judy King Dorminey of Alapaha; grandchildren, Justin Hancock (Casey) of Valdosta, Kristen Overstreet (Cody) of Nashville, Dylan Dorminey of Alapaha; great- grandchildren, Jenna Blake Hancock of Valdosta, Skylar Hancock of Valdosta, Kayden Overstreet of Nashville, Wyatt Overstreet of Nashville; three brothers, Kenneth King of Glenville, Johnny King, Tommy King both of Enigma. In keeping with Mr. King's wishes he will be cremated. Family and friends gathered at his residence, 16827 Hwy 129, Alapaha, from 2 - 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 21.
