Dr. Lassiter had been in ill health for several months. Dr. Lassiter was a beloved character in this section and he will be missed by a host of friends. He was born in Weston, Georgia, September 23, 1874, the son of Mr. and Mrs. H.M. Lassiter. In 1897 he was married to Miss Mary Crymes of Weston. They have been residents of Berrien county for several years and are well known throughout the county. At the time of his death Dr. Lassiter was 63 years old. He was a member of the Methodist church. Funeral services were held Saturday morning, March 20, at 11 o’clock at the Empire Church. Rev. J.A. Rountree, pastor of the Nashville Methodist church, was the pastor in charge of the services. Interment was in the Empire cemetery. Pall-bearers were J.L. Brogdon, N.H. Harper, N.N. Hughes, J.V. Nix, E.J. Nix, and W.L. Clark. Surviving him are his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Dave Roland of Nashville; and four sons, Robert, Fain, Emory, Allen Carter, all of Nashville. The Giddens Funeral Home of Nashville was in charge of funeral arrangements.
