Born September 6, 1912 in Luzerne, PA to the late Charles and Eva Mae Rood Hooper she was a resident of Clinch County since 1960, but spent the last six years with her daughter in Nashville. She was a homemaker and a member of Homerville United Methodist Church, Georgia Hargraves Circle, Susannah Wesley Sunday School Class, and Clinch Memorial Hospital Pink Ladies. She was married to the late Vincent Louis Leccese. Survivors include daughters and some son in law Jennie and Bobby Akridge of Nashville and Eva Mae Smith of Harvey's Lake, PA; son and daughter in law Danny and Jean Leccese of Homerville; seven grandchildren, Vince and Angie Leccese, Scott Leccese, Eric and Emily Leccese, Maria Akridge, Leasa and Lyn Murray, Chuck Akridge, Bob and Carla Akridge, 16 great grandchildren; a very special caregiver, Shirley Trowell of Nashville; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by three sisters Ethel Barnard, Harriet Fitzgerald and Shirley Grady and three brothers, Claude Hooper, Charlie Hooper and Ray Hooper. Funeral services were held March 1 at 11 a.m. at Homerville United Methodist Church with Rev. James Davis and Dr. Alton Cook officiating. Elise Martin, Gayle Hughes and Jane Ann Musgrove sang "He Touched Me," Margaret Higbee played the prelude and postlude on the organ and special musical on the piano. Interment was in Pine Forest Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Bill Forbes, Albert Thornton, Billy Walton, Foster Smith. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Susannah Wesley Sunday School class. Rountree Funeral Home of Homerville was in charge of arrangements.
