Born Marcy 17, 1936, in Berrien County to the late Lessie and Frances Bohannon Lewis, he was a cabinet maker and member of Nashville United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Velma Brogdon Lewis of Nashville; son, Keith (Teresa) Lewis and Michael (Hydie) Lewis, both of Nashville; two grandchildren, Cody Lewis and Katie Lewis; four sisters, Betty Connell of Fitzgerald, Betty Driggers of Claxton, Grace Knight of Savannah, Dot Wages of Smyrna; three brothers, Rev. Alvin Lewis of Tifton, Floyd Gaskins of Jacksonville, FL, Ollie L. Gaskins of Savannah. He was preceded in death by a brother, Luther Gaskins and a sister Rachel Gaskins. Funeral services were held January 27 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Revs. Jimmy Odum, Alvin Lewis and Phillip Simmons officiating. Angie Cornelius sang "Amazing Grace." Interment was in Riverside Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Tony Price, Ronnie Brinson, Earl Wayne Gray, Billy Royals, Ronnie Joiner, Sonny Griner. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Griffin, Guy Tittle, Donald Powell, Newt Hughes, David Akins, Michael Spells, Dr. Rick Wheeler, Chase Joiner, Derrick Joiner, Lamar Joiner.
