Born October 9, 1912 in Coffee County to the late Jessie and Lottie Harper Lindsey, he was a retired farmer and retired from Nashville Mills. He was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. He was married to the late Lois Purvis Lindsey. He was also preceded in death by a son, Talmadge Lindsey and a granddaughter, Vicky Lindsey. Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Evans of Nashville and Carolyn Cornelius of Thomasville; one son, Gerald Lindsey of Nashville; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held February 24 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Revs. Mickey Lindsey and George O'Berry officiating. Angie and Rodney Cornelius sang "Amazing Grace," and Mickey Lindsey sang "I Won't Have to Worry." Dan Allen Taylor served as pianist. Interment was in Pine Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ricky Cornelius, Randy Cornelius, Rodney Cornelius, Scott Cornelius, Mickey Lindsey, Todd Lindsey. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
