He was born July 22, 1950, in Tift County to the late Alcyone Short and Norman Monroe Lovein, Jr. He was associated with Southern Traditions Realty as a sales representative and certified appraiser. He was a member of Nashville United Methodist Church and a graduate of Valdosta State University. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Carol Lindsey Lovein of Nashville; daughter, Tess Disney of Valdosta; son, John (Diana) Lovein of Valdosta; step- daughter, Haley Barnhardt of Valdosta; sister, Diane Williams of Denver, CO; two brothers, Norman M. “Bo” (Carol) Lovein, III of Nashville and Robert S. “Bob” (Jo) Lovein of Nashville; four grandchildren. The family will honor his request for cremation. A memorial service was held July 28 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Finn and Rev. Jimmy Parker officiating. Memorials are requested to Nashville United Methodist Church, 304 S. Berrien St., Nashville, GA 31639; Brushy Creek Baptist Church, 430 Brushy Creek Rd., Sparks, GA 31647; Hospice of Tiftarea, 101-4 W 8th Street, Tifton, GA 31794.
